Daal Makhani (Indian Lentil Soup)

Like any homemade meal, this dish is worth the time and effort.  When we have this for dinner, we quickly realize that it is worth every minute spent on it and every calorie ingested.

But there are so many health benefits to this dish:

Black daal is one of the richest sources of proteins and vitamin B. This lentil is full of iron, folic acid, calcium, magnesium and potassium. It also helps improve digestion because it is filled with fibres. It can help in boosting energy by proving more oxygenated blood to your organs. So many other great health benefits to lentils.

Don’t shy away from butter: Studies show that real, grass-fed butter is actually good for you!  Butter helps the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins; it’s also a great source of antioxidants and other nutrients (such as Vitamins A, D, E, and K and the mineral selenium) that strengthen our immune system, protect our cardiovascular system, and help prevent cancer.
